Hand made one of a kind carvers/whittlers lap tray. This handy tray protects your legs and give you a solid surface to work on as well as hold all your tools and keeps your wood chips from going all over. Now you can do your wood carving indoor without making a huge mess! I make these with a lightweight pine wood which also has a little give so if your tools slip you will not damage or dull them and will not hurt your wrist like it might if it hit a hard wood. I rub them with teak oil when done to protect the wood.
Features
  • Comes with two different blocks to hold the piece you are working on against so its not sliding around on you. One has a round shape and one has a 90 degree angle and both blocks can be reversed to give you a flat surface to hold your piece against.
  • The blocks are adjustable to four different positions so you can adjust it till your comfortable depending on the size of you piece and are held in position with medal dowels for stability and durability
  • 2" slop front to back allows you to work down on your piece and allows the chips to flow down hill
  • Contoured front allows the tray to hug your body
  • Raised edges keep the chips on the tray and not the floor
  • Two large tool areas keep your tools separate from the mess of your wood chips
  • The back of the work area lifts up allowing for easy disposal of the wood chips and the V shape funnels the chips right out the back
